Inheritance of Traditional Family Values: A Comparative Study of Family Ancestral Shrines and Related Paintings of Lee Family

Apart from providing a haven, home serves also as place where people can develop their personalities and temperaments. Traditions within families are an often-unseen force that has profound effect on people. In this article, the authors explore meaning value of family traditional inheritance in current context what manifestations may occur. After reviewing history characteristics ancestral shrines, study further examined forms expression used to express “home” “family traditions” creator’s perspective. A conceptual framework is provided for subsequent case studies. Considering role importance different creations transmitting traditions, memorial hall named “Qiyun Residence” series paintings called “Home: Sweet Home” were created by members analyze interpret traditions.
